Re: Londoners who support Liverpool or Man Utd.......
Over the years when new people started at work the first question we asked them was what team do you support?
when an Asian started we just asked United or Liverpool, one day I asked this to a young Asian lad and his responce was neither of those 2 cunts I'm West Ham!
We also had a blank map of Britain and used to ask the glory hunting cunts to point out where Manchester or Liverpool was on the map most of them couldn't.

Loads of foreigners support us for weird reasons as well. Just how it is.

I can confirm that.

Was on a ferry crossing a Norwegian fiord the other day. This was a nice experience marred only by three kids in Liverpool tops, who I felt safe to assume were not yelling in Scouse.

Weirdest places are the likes of Norway.

I mean I know they're league is pretty shite, but hardly any of them over there support a local team and are all English football obsessed.

How do they chose a team?

Basically by whoever their favourite Norwegians have played for.

Monstrous percentage of them are Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs fans.

Cunts.

There's a definite change in teams that kids support. I'm up near Cheltenham at the moment and was out with my two year old kicking a ball about in the park, got chatting to a few young lads (11ish i'd guess) having a kick about themselves and asked who they support...both of them said Barcelona. Young lad across the road is 9, also says he supports Barcelona. I was a bit taken aback - didn't know what to say really, they definitely weren't impressed with my reply of "what about Cheltenham?"!

My two daughters are wary of bringing boyfriends home cos they know the first thing I will ask. The latest claims to support Chelsea turns out I have been to Stamford Bridge more times than he has.....is he glory hunter or liar?

Yeah it's quite common, surprised me when I first moved out of London. I've met people with season tickets at Cardiff and Plymouth with Liverpool and West Ham tattoos. 100% serious. Obviously one or the other btw, not both!

In a way it's a good thing as it's a clear 'tell' about someone. If you start working somewhere in London and a fellow worker from south east England declares they support Man U or the Mickeys you know instantly that you can't trust them.

Just seen a few Coventry fans on the central line getting off at Redbridge and Newbury Park do they count?

Coventry had a hardcore of 20,000 plus in better times. Millwall had 40,000 plus in their recent visits to Wembley..... the perfect definition of c***s

Talking of glory hunters. Coventry have 38 000 fans at Wembley today and most of them haven't set foot in the Ricoh arena all season

One of York City's coaches was a West Ham fan.

I used to get beaten at chess by him at the local club.

Last time I met him, he'd just been made redundant, so I guess his second team is NOT York City.

I remember when we played Grimsby when Joe Cole made his debut I think. Anyway a Grimsby coach stopped outside the main entrance and i will always remember someone getting off opening his jacket showing his West Ham top and pointing to the old west stand and proudly saying look at that stand.

Just so glad Liverpool lost as they would have been out in force. And love the salah joke saying his arm give as it had been carrying liverpool all season.

And De Bruyne should have got player of the year. They probably thought Salah might have won the final so i can see where they come from.

Sadly unless both clubs drop right down the table their here to stay.

Mashed, I have lived all my life in North Lincolnshire,(60 years) l support Grimsby Town and my "big team" who I follow is West Ham, because we won the World Cup in 1966, in this area folks big team is nearly always Manure or the scousers.

Re: Londoners who support Liverpool or Man Utd.......
If I meet a norwegian who supports Stoke, or Newcastle, or MANSFIELD, or Southampton or anything other then the normal two, Liverpool and Man U, I shake their hands and tell them well done for not being obvious. I've even got some time for the Norwegian Yids, as most of them only follow them because of Thorsvedt and they haven't had much real glory glory for some time.

Chelsea and Man City and to a lesser degree Arsenal are almost in the same group as Liverpool and Man U, but that's more the Africans, who seem to latch on to clubs that have their country's hero playing there. Look at how many Egyptians are now die hard scousers.

I repeat myself, but West Ham are by far the best supported team for a club that has won fuck all since 1980.

Mashed

If their main bigger team is West Ham then fair enough, they clearly are not chasing the glory. If however it is Man U or Liverpool then like I said in my original post, I think they are trying to justify the glory hunting.

I know a lot of people from Devon and Wales who support 2 teams, usually their own local lower league one and either ManU or Liverpool.

I even know a handful who's main "big team" is West Ham.

You'd be surprised how common this is, I reckon.

Re: Londoners who support Liverpool or Man Utd.......
If you could only support your local team how can you pass supporting West Ham on to the kids, grandkids if you or they move from the area. A lot of people, that originally lived in the area around West Ham, moved away, are their children supposed to support another team.

I thing a lot of it these days is an attitude of : "Look, I follow a successful team, therefore I know all about the game. I'f that's the case just for football, I must (MUST) be successful in all other walks of life, too. So show me some fucking respect."
